Thera Bamboo Massage is a massage spa in Newburgh, Indiana. They came to us weeks before opening day with a SquareSpace subscription and a domain name.
After a consultation, we ended up delivering something better than optimized SquareSpace. You can see the finished product at therabamboomassage.com.
The Challenge
Thera Bamboo Massage originally contacted us for SEO on a SquareSpace site, which they had planned to build themselves. Their location was opening in a couple of weeks, so the clock was already ticking.
We agreed to work with the SquareSpace site, but after our initial consultation the owner did more research and made a bold call: scrap the SquareSpace idea and build a WordPress site from scratch.
That decision came with two hard requirements. The new site needed to launch fast, and it had to include an online booking system with text message notifications for clients and employees.
The Solution
Rebuilt on WordPress
We recommended WordPress with Elementor and they agreed. It's the same flexible, SEO-friendly setup that we recommend for most clients, and it comes with none of the inherent disadvantages of a SquareSpace site.
Booking by Vagaro
They needed dependable online scheduling with text notifications for clients and employees. We recommended Vagaro, a booking platform built for salons & spas. We handled the setup and integration for no additional cost.
SEO Content
Every page launched with keyword-targeted copy already in place. We covered their services and their story. Every page balanced SEO best practices with client-pleasing conversion optimization.
From kickoff to launch, the entire build took a little over 4 weeks.

The Results
At the time of writing (less than a year after site launch), Thera Bamboo Massage ranks #2 for “Newburgh massage” and related keywords. They chose a bi-monthly SEO plan, a much lighter schedule than most of our clients run.
